Those berries were good eating!

1.View looking north from Inman Drive at the bottom of the hill. The archway is vintage 2010. The sidewalk was not there when we were. There was a line of fruit bearing trees along the creek that had little red berries about the size of the eraser on a pencil. That was good eating and was a really big deal.
2. The Sibley house at 501. I can remember going to a birthday party there. I don't recall just exactly whose birthday it was, but I can tell you that there was a piñata hanging from the ceiling of the front porch.
3.Georgia Power substation on College Avenue. When we were there, there was a house set back from the street on an elevated lawn. I had a hard time understanding why someone would build a house that nobody lived in. My parents enlightened me.
4. Chapel (yellow arrow) at Decatur Presbyterian Church, where I was married in June of 1966.
5. Southeast corner of Courthouse Square. When I was in Boy Scout troop 150, and as part of some civic function in probably the winter of 1955, another scout and I camped out overnight there (yellow arrow). The only thing that I remember about that is it must have been the coldest night of the year.
6. The Woolworth store on the north side of the square always had a good supply of Duncan yo-yos. Next door to the right was the Dekalb Theater. Who knows! I might have been inside the theater at the same exact moment this photo was taken watching Superman.
7. Lane Drug Store at the corner of Ponce de Leon and Claremont. The only thing that I remember about it was that the magazine rack was just inside the front door.
8. Colonial grocery store. We did most of our shopping there.
