The famous Fabergé Easter eggs.


1. The Azov Egg. Given by Tsar Alexander III to his wife, the Tsarina Marie, in 1891. It is currently in Moscow.
2. The Imperial Rock Crystal Egg. Given by Nicholas to Alexandra in 1896. It is currently in the United States at the Virginia Museum of Fine Art.
3. The Madonna Lily Clock Egg. Given by Nicholas to Alexandra in 1899. It is currently in Moscow.
4. The Cockerel Clock Egg. Given by Nicholas to his mother, the dowager empress Marie, in 1900.
5. The Gatchina Palace Egg. Given in 1901 by Nicholas again to his mother, Marie. It is currently in the United States at the Virginia Museum of Fine Art.
6. The Rothschild Clock Egg of 1902. Made specifically for the Rothschild family. It was one of the very few eggs not made for the Imperial Family. It is currently in Moscow. Consuelo Vanderbilt purchased the Duchess of Marlborough Egg upon her marriage to the Duke of Marlborough in 1895. That particular egg is currently in the Malcom Forbes collection in the United States. See below.
7. The Kremlin Egg. At the base of the egg is a music box. Given by Nicholas to Alexandra in 1906.
8. The Orange Tree Egg. Given by Nicholas to his mother in 1911.
9. The Imperial Red Cross Egg. Given by Nicholas to his mother in 1915. It is currently in the United States at the Virginia Museum of Fine Art.
