Recall that fourteen year old Leonid Sednev did indeed accompany the Imperial Family into the Ipatiev house as a cook's helper. He also hung out a lot with Alexei. Yurovsky released him only hours before the massacre to the Popov house across the street. In the above photo, which was almost certainly taken at Tobolsk in the spring of 1918, he is shown at the far left. Grand Duchess Tatiania is shown at the far right. The journey to Ekaterinburg was only weeks away.
