Pig's Meadow revisited.

Above, investigator Nicholas Sokolov at the Pig's Meadow site. While at the Four Brother's area he correctly concluded that the victims had been moved to another area. He was on the right track, but unfortunately, the Bolsheviks recaptured Ekaterinburg soon after this photo was taken and he had to leave town quickly.

Below, a map of Pig's Meadow, coordinates 56° 54' 40.91"N, 60° 29'43.56"E. The blue squiggly line indicates the cart path where the 1979 discovery was made. That cart path was only a short distance from Koptiaki Road. The inset is of Valentin Gribenyuk, who located the remains of Alexei and Marie in 2007.

Below left, the sailor Klement Nagorny whose job (along with that of Nicholas Derevenko) it was to watch over Alexei so that he would not hurt himself. Nagorny accompanied the Imperial Family into the Ipatiev house. One day, Alexei was playing with a religious ornament of some sort. An interior guard came and took the ornament away. Nagorny objected and was taken to jail and subsequently shot several days later. Below right, Ivan Sednev, who also accompanied the Imperial family into the Ipatiev house. He was removed at the same time as Nagorny and also shot. In this photo, Alexei is to his right. I could never figure out why Victorian society sometimes dressed up little boys to look like little girls
